Headache May Be Lack of Water
As soon as the lack of water is felt by the human body, it takes care of giving us warning signs. If these signs are ignored, some symptoms occur within the first hours of dehydration, and headache is one of them.
The human brain is about 74% water. It, along with the kidneys, is therefore the main one affected in a case of dehydration. The liquid composition of the brain is a natural protection in the case of light knocks, and when the flow of oxygen and blood decreases due to lack of water, there is a headache.
Other Organs Are Affected by Lack of Water
It is through water that our body dissolves and absorbs salts and vitamins. The kidneys use it to detox. Muscles gain flexibility. Bone joints gain lubrication and our entire body is cooled, maintaining the proper and healthy temperature between 36ºC and 37ºC.
Tips For Daily Drinking Water
The rush of work and routine is intense and can impair water intake. However, we’ve put together a few tips you can follow to ensure you drink the amount you need each day.
The first one is to calculate how much water you should drink daily. The required consumption is defined by a simple account, which multiplies each kilo of your weight by 35 milliliters (ml) of water. A person weighing 75 kilos, for example, should consume 2.6 liters per day (75 kg x 0.035 liters = 2.625)
To meet the goal, bring a small bottle, squeeze bottle or mug to your desk at your workplace and set goals in the morning and afternoon. For example, 500 ml of water in the morning and 1 liter in the afternoon. In this case, at night, or on the way home from work, it’s easy to drink the rest to complete the daily goal.
Also take advantage of the digital age by downloading apps that have alarm clocks to remind you to take that break from work and drink water. If you don’t work in an office, always have a bottle of water within reach.
Don’t wait to be thirsty to drink water. Feeling thirsty is the first symptom that indicates possible dehydration. And, of course, never drink tap water, as it has no guarantee of purity and it can backfire, exposing your health to the risk of bacteria that are extremely harmful to human beings.
